FUNK EQUIPMENT Vol.1

This drum sample library was especially produced for music like HipHop, Funk, Soul, Drum&Bass etc.
It was designed for HALION and KONTAKT sampler plugs, making use of their full potential. Also supported are BATTERY and EXS24 (with a few minor restrictions).
The samples are in .WAV format and can theoretically be used by any sampler, but we strongly recommend using one of the supported platforms.

By purchasing this product, you attain the full power of 1,4 GB of realistic drum sounds. You get access to some 2500 samples, all recorded in stereo in 24bit/44,1 kHz. Only moderate sound processing was applied to these sounds to allow greatest flexibility in dynamics and timbre. All sounds were shaped only by modification of the actual drums and use of special microphone techniques.

The Kits:

There are 8 basic drumsets (kick, snare, hh), 4 sets of toms, and 4 sets of cymbals (ride & crash).
All kits feature a variety of different hits for each single instrument.
There are at least 2 variations of the kick. Every snare features at least one version each for center hit, rimshot and sidestick, plus a variety of rolls. The hihats all have five or more different hits ranging from closed to open.

Most hits have 16 velocity layers, which are all actual sample recorded velocity layers, no filtering or similar 'fake technologies' were used. Some hit variations are limited to 10 or 13 velocity layers. The snarerolls have 2-16 layers depending on playing style.

Drums used:      misc. Gretsch, dw, Tama, Sonor, Mapex, Premier, custom drums

The Grooves:

In addition to the samples the complete FUNK EQUIPMENT Vol. 1 package is delivered with a collection of 100 elaborate drumpatterns which make use of the extensive dynamic range that these kits offer. Included are some of the most banging funk classics as well as new grooves and even drum solos. These are MIDI-patterns, not sampled loops; therefore none of the usual limitations of working with sampled beats will restrict your creativity. You can use FUNK EQUIPMENT grooves either as they are, or you can make them the starting point for your own. By changing the tempo and pitch, or replacing any sound you can give these grooves your own flavor. It is also possible to completely redo the pattern and just keep the feeling of the original. You can even recreate your favorite breakbeats using a MIDI file created by a beatslicer.

The grooves are included in FUNK EQUIPMENT Complete only.
